Is There An Update I Can Get For Vista So That I Can Play My Old Pc Games?

I have a whole bunch of the older Oregon Trail and Sim games, but they won’t run on my laptop, I think because of Vista. Is there anything I can add or update so that they will play?

Most of those (i.e. oregon trail if its the old one) require DOS emulators to run…they exist, but are a bit of a pain in the butt.
Try doing a google search for vista compatibility mode – it all depends on what OS the games were made for. If we’re talking XP, you should be able to run it on vista in compatibility mode. If it’s an older OS, you may need to get a bit more extreme (I’m not sure about your level of computer knowledge, but you can use VMWare and things of that nature to run virtual machines).

Hey BellyDancer-
It is more than likely these games will not work with Vista because they are so old. You can try plugging the game titles into this Vista Compatibility checker to see if updates are available: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compati…

any older games than year 2000 will have trouble playing on Vista, because Vista runs in a different way now days. Only XP and Windows 2000 can still run those old games.
